An invitation to participate in the path towards the Ordinary Synod on the Family, to be held next October in the Vatican, was launched by the Bishops of the Swiss Episcopal Conference (CES) in a statement released a few days ago. In their text, they recall the need for "developing the ideas through true spiritual discernment that takes into account the many difficulties and challenges faced by families."
The Bishops encourage "the faithful, priests, pastoral workers and everyone involved to advance on the synodal path and seek dialogue on the open issues. All are free to give these dialogues the shape they want." According to CES, this path must adopt "an approach as broad and personal as possible with respect to the people who are affected by the problem of the family and marriage." Finally, the Bishops call for the organization of specific events, "in parishes, pastoral units, deaneries, as well as associations, communities and groups," deeming "important" that "the results really flow together during the Synod in Rome."
