Maternity and Catholicism
An international conference at the Istituto Maria SS Bambina sponsored by MaterCare International
"Maternal Health Care and the Catholic Conscience" is the theme of an international conference that will be held in the Vatican, from August 31st to September 4th, at the Istituto Maria SS Bambina (Via Paolo VI, 21). This event is sponsored by MaterCare International (MCI), an association of Catholic obstetricians and gynecologists from around the world who care for the health of mothers and their children. The goal, say the promoters, is to accomplish the work set out by Evangelium Vitae, in this year marked by the twentieth anniversary of the Encyclical and dedicated to the Synod on the family. The Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum will also take part in the meeting, with a lecture by Fr. Joseph Tham, LC, on "Catholic Teaching on Religious and Conscientious Objections to Unjust Laws" scheduled for September 1st, at 11:00 am.
