The President of the Council, Mons. Vincenzo Paglia, met His Holiness Patriarch Cyril in Moscow on December 7th.

The Pontifical Council for the Family organized, on the morning of the 11th, a significant meeting between the President, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, and major movements and associations that deal with family and life, both nationally and internationally.

The new website of the Pontifical Council for the Family opens with the Pope’s blessing. Simultaneously with our launching, the Holy Father granted an audience to our President, Mons. Vincenzo Paglia.

The new webpage of the Pontifical Council for the Family is beginning to see the light of day this Christmas. It is an important commitment for this organism of the Holy See to be present in the digital world with dedication, so as to serve marriage, the family and life in the world.

On this site we talk about love, so start like God did: open your eyes for a few seconds and enjoy the images of “Jara - the Spectacle of Life,” now in a pure Christmas version, that open the renovated site of the Pontifical Council for Family and show, with a weekly rhythm, the mystery of life and love. You cannot but agree with Him in saying that it “is very good” (Gen 1:31).

A few days ago I noticed that my son, who is 20, had put my picture in his Facebook profile. That was a deep joy for me, a great little sign of being able to give a deeper meaning to my life, well beyond the profession, the thousands of meetings, and the daily choice to be a good person. And in my turn I wanted to share this joy on Facebook.

Si sono svolti questa mattina, presso il Pontificio Consiglio per la Famiglia, i festeggiamenti dei 76 anni di Sua Eminenza il Cardinale Ennio Antonelli, Presidente emerito del Dicastero.

Con queste parole Mons. Paglia ha accolto, presso il dicastero, il nutrito gruppo di vescovi francesi in visita ad limina. L’incontro, aperto dall’intervento di Mons. Rivière, vescovo di Autun, Châlon e Mâcon è stato caratterizzato da grande cordialità.

Tra le tante iniziative promosse dall’Arcivescovo Vincenzo Paglia, Presidente del Pontificio Consiglio per la Famiglia, quella di aprire la settimana di lavoro con la solenne concelebrazione eucaristica nella cappella del dicastero ogni lunedì mattina, è stata accolta con particolare coinvolgimento ed gioiosa partecipazione.

Nel corso dell’Incontro Internazionale di Preghiera per la Pace, promosso dalla Comunità di Sant’Egidio a Sarajevo (9-11 settembre 2012) si è tenuta una tavola rotonda sul tema Senza la Famiglia non c’è futuro, alla quale sono intervenuti Chrysostomos II Arcivescovo ortodosso di Nuova Giustiniana e di Tutta Cipro, S.E. Mons. Vincenzo Paglia, Presidente del Pontificio Consiglio per la Famiglia, David Rosen Già Rabbino capo di Irlanda, AJC, Israele, Mikko Heikka Vescovo della Chiesa Luterana in Finlandia, Luca Marconi Assessore alla Regione Marche.
