On Friday, June 14th, the Secretary of the Pontifical Council, Bishop Jean Laffitte, gave a lecture entitled “Verbum caro factum est,” at the IV International Symposium on the Theology of the Body, which is being held in Fatima from 13 to 16 June. In his talk dedicated to the sacramental nature of human love, Msgr. Laffitte said that marriage has a specific function: it expresses in a unique way the mystery of the union of Christ the Bridegroom with the Church Bride. This union also delineates itself as a communion of life and love.
