The Eighth National March of Citizenship for Life has been organized for June 2nd, in Brasilia. Its objective: prevent the legalization of killing unborn children from the twelfth week of pregnancy
Stop the national draft law number 236/2012, which would legalize abortion from the twelfth week of the child‘s life. This is the goal set by the organizers of the Eighth Brazilian National March of Citizenship for Life in Brasilia, on June 2nd, scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm on the esplanade behind the TV Tower, on the Monumental Axis.
The march aims to prevent the approval of the draft law under discussion these days in the Senate. Likewise, it is the bearer of strong instance addressed to the legislature, intended to convince the assembly to accept and pass the Statute of the Unborn (PL 478/2007, outright against abortion) as well as the reform of the penal code in defense of life from the moment of conception. The initiative, promoted by the National Movement of Citizenship for Life, is backed by a number of the country‘s civil and religious organizations, including the National Conference of Brazilian Bishops (CNBB), the Brazilian Spiritualist Federation (FEB), the National Forum for Social Action and Politics (FENASP), and Adira - Citizenship and Life.
