Ghana: a Conference and a March in Accra against the culture of death
Under the title "Promoting Life and Family Values in the Continuing Culture of Death" a conference, organized by the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference and the GCBC‘s Health Commission, took place early in August at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Accra, Ghana.
The aim, explained the president of the GCBC, Bishop Joseph Afrifah-Agyekum, was to "reiterate the Church’s true and beautiful teachings on the sanctity of life, the beauty of love, the purity of marriage and family life and the dignity of human sexuality." A prayer campaign accompanied the conference and, on August 8, a pro-family march through some of Accra‘s main streets.
