Msgr. Carlos Simon Vazquez spoke in Madrid on "The Family in God‘s Plan"
The family in the history of salvation, in the teaching of the Church, in Christian doctrine and in the fullness of ecclesial family are the four parts of God‘s plan for the family "narrated" by Msgr. Carlos Simon Vazquez, Undersecretary of the Pontifical Council for the Family, in his intervention for the XXXIVth Day the Delegates of family ministry, family associations and movements, which took place in Madrid, from 27 to 29 November. "God has a plan, a project, a design on the family. The latter—he said—is the key challenge today for 92% of young Italians, who consider the family the most important thing, as reported by L‘Espresso; but the Pontifical Council for the Family has also reported comparable data." It is necessary, explained the Undersecretary of the Dicastery for the family, "for the pastoral ministry to avoid falling into fragmentation and ‘specialization,‘ a very common and sterile temptation that prevents us from seeing the depth of each person‘s heart. [...] All that the Christian revelation tells us is that God cannot be replaced by pastoral strategies. [...] These necessary plans are never ends in themselves, but they are tools, support for marriage and the family, for showing the world the beauty and goodness of creation and salvation."
