The Holy Father Francis, after the customary consultation of the episcopal conferences, the Eastern Catholic Churches sui iuris and the Union of Superiors General, and having listened to the suggestions of the Fathers at the last synodal assembly and the opinion of the XIV Ordinary Council, has that decided the 15th General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, to be held in October 2018, will focus in the theme:
Young people, Faith and Vocational Discernment
This theme, which expresses the Church‘s pastoral concern for the young, is in continuity with the findings of the recent synodal assemblies on the family and the contents of the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia. Its objective is to accompany young people on their way of life towards maturity so that, through a process of discernment, they can discover their life project and realize it with joy, opening themselves to the encounter with God and with men, and actively participating in building up the Church and society.
