A video produced by The Iona Institute in defense of marriage and children
The Iona Institute, a “think tank” founded in Ireland by the Catholic editor and commentator David Quinn in defense of marriage and at the service of the freedom of conscience in society, has produced a video, just over a minute long and using the most recent generation of graphics and technology, on the “case” of marriage between a man and a woman.
«When a man and a woman fall in love, they can get married. But when two men and two women love each other, they don’t get married: that’s not discrimination, but these are different situations that correspond to different ways, requiring different legal protection. The relationship between a man and a woman is unique. A man and a woman can generate new life; naturally they have children and become a dad and a mom, in a unique way. That’s not discrimination. Marriage is a private promise and it has a public purpose as well. Every child has the right to have a mom and a dad, and family is the most important social institution. Marriage between a man and a woman must be defended, for the good of the children».
The Iona Institute has also published a document on Marriage and Family in Ireland.
