The city of Goma is the center of criminal activity, according to the complaint of the Co-ordination of civil society in North Kivu
A network of child traffickers is operating in Goma, in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. In a complaint sent to Fides, the Co-ordination of civil society in North Kivu states: “The method used by this network is simple: its members are using different strategies and tricks to capture their victims. They are organizing a number of brainwashing sessions and, given the victims’ precarious economic conditions, they promise them a better life.” The Congolese army, backed by UN-troops, is conducting a series of military offensives to neutralize this armed group, which is one of the many who are operating in that Congolese province.
