In Angri, 150 hours of Eucharistic adoration in preparation for the October Synod
One hundred and fifty hours for the family. These were hours of Eucharistic adoration lived in Angri (Salerno), on the occasion of the Fourth Family Law Week, in the Church of "Blessed Louis and Zelie Martin" at the Citadel of Charity. The adoration, promoted in preparation for the Synod on the Family, was accompanied by catechesis and a few moments of reflection led by Fr. Silvio Longobardi, founder of Progetto Famiglia and chaplain of the Fraternità di Emmaus. At the heart of this great prayer for the family, there was the study conference entitled "Family Homes and educational communities: criteria and procedures for choices adapted to children", organized in collaboration with the Diocesan Family Counseling Office of Pompeii.
"The entire Family Law Week was accompanied by unanimous and perseverant prayer, like that of the primitive community awaiting the Spirit," says Silvio Longobardi. The prayers were dedicated in a special way to the Pope, "in this time, when he is called upon to give significant answers to problematic situations that the family is experiencing, both in the social and ecclesial context." In addition, there was a request for "the intercession of St. John Paul II, the Pope of the Family, who was able to reveal clearly and courageously the deep mystery of the family—Longobardi concluded—, thus giving it an active role in the Church and the social fabric".
