On Monday, June 23, Pope Francis received the President of our Dicastery, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia
During the audience, His Excellency, Msgr. Paglia first presented the Pope with the agenda that will be involving the Pontifical Council for the Family for this coming year in relation to the two Synods on the Family, scheduled for October 2014 and for 2015. The focus then shifted to a number of initiatives that will feature very significantly during this period of time. Among these, they discussed the celebration of an Elderly Day, a September Seminar, and above all, the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, scheduled for September 2015. The Holy Father warmly encouraged the President and heartened the entire Pontifical Council (Members, Presidential Committee, Consultors and Officials) to invigorate their fervor, so that all families may live with enthusiasm and in the witness of a love that is able to transform society and the world.
