In today‘s society, dominated by the idol of money, whatever does not produce profits—for example, children and the elderly—is discarded. Pope Francis addressed these harsh words to the Community of Sant‘Egidio. Yet, he is also full of hope, because society is changed precisely by starting with the elderly and the children; in fact, the Master reminds us: "The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone."
