Spain, reform of the Abortion Law is stopped. Bishop Reig: "Mobilize the consciences and regenerate the parties"
Eight points to express dissent have been written by Msgr. Juan Antonio Reig Pla, Bishop of Alcalá de Henares, about the failure to reform the Abortion Law in Spain. The Bill for protection of the unborn and the rights of pregnant women, promoted by Spain’s conservative government, the Partido Popular, will be withdrawn because there would not be sufficient consent. In his reflection, the embittered Bishop invites people to "call things by their name" and appeals especially to Catholics to hold fast to the purpose of evangelization, insist on education in love, mobilize the consciences, regenerate the major political parties, and promote the adoption of laws to protect unborn children, mothers and families.
