The Pope will attend next year’s World Meeting of Families. The announcement was made at the International Inter-religious Conference on Complementarity between Man and Woman
It‘s official: Pope Francis will go to Philadelphia in September 2015 to attend the VIII World Meeting of Families. He announced this personally yesterday, in the Synod Hall, at the end of the speech he addressed to the participants of the International Inter-religious Conference on Complementarity between Man and Woman, sponsored by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in collaboration with the Pontifical Councils for the Family, for Interreligious Dialogue and for the Promotion of Christian Unity. Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Council for the Family, Msgr. Jean Laffitte and Msgr. Carlos Simon Vazquez, respectively Secretary and Undersecretary of the Dicastery, were also present when the announcement was made. The Archbishop of Philadelphia, Charles J. Chaput, said he was "very happy about the news.
