Archbishop Mbilingi speaks out against gender ideology: "It has destructive consequences for the family"

"Fighting effectively against gender ideology and its disastrous consequences for women and, above all, for the family, which finds itself experiencing a strong sense of moral disintegration and disorientation." It is in this light that the Episcopal Conference of Angola and São Tomé will work to prepare for the upcoming Ordinary General Synod on the family, which will be held the Vatican from 4 to 25 October.

Archbishop Gabriel Mbilingi, President of the Bishops‘ Conference of Angola and São Tomé (CEAST), speaking to the Plenary Assembly of the CEAST, at Luena (Moxico Province), recalled the importance of protecting women and urged the Church, the institutions and the entire civil society "to a greater commitment to restoring the true dignity of women, so to accomplish the common and complementary vocation and mission that God has entrusted to all human beings, both men and women, by creating them in His image and likeness."
