We are publishing the entire lecture of Cardinal Ennio Antonelli, President emeritus of the Pontifical Council for the Family (to be edited by Ares), entitled "The Marriage Crisis and the Eucharist" This intervention deals with the following topics: the coherency and perfectibility of the pastoral practices authorized so far; the various proposals for change and the objections against them; the inability of the "law of gradualness" to suggest general criteria for the admission of divorced and remarried faithful and their partners to the Eucharist; the fixed stance on the indissolubility of Christian marriage; the oblation of love in relation to the validity of a marriage; and the evangelical authenticity for missionary fruitfulness.
