The hours are striking for the Pilgrimage of Families in Rome, at the Tomb of St. Peter, together with Pope Francis (October 26th and 27th). Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, which is promoting the event in the Year of Faith, reiterated in an interview with the Catholic News Service what the slogan of the Pilgrimage–“Family, Experience the Joy of Faith!”– expresses. «This is a shard moment of the joy of faith and of the happiness of being part of a loving family», the President said. «It’s beautiful to say, ‘I love you,’ to say, ‘I’m not afraid of tomorrow because I know you are there’».
 
Being a family is not easy; «it requires sacrifices». The Pilgrimage is an opportunity to rediscover the beauty of family ties and of the relationships between generations. «It’s not an accident that Pope Francis continues to emphasize the importance of keeping intact the bonds between the beginning of life and the end of life. After all, a tree without roots is a tree without leaves and without fruit; it‘s just a trunk and that‘s sad to see». «We have to demonstrate that the ‘we’ of a family is not only possible, but beautiful».
