The Holy Father received in audience the President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, on Saturday, September 14th. Pope Francis invited the President and the entire Dicastery to engage in deep and wide-spread work for the benefit of the family and life, in close collaboration with the Bishops’ Conferences around the world.
 
The Holy Father asked that special attention be given to the different family members and to the situations of extreme poverty.
 
A significant portion of the audience was dedicated to discussing the program of the Pilgrimage of the families in the Year of Faith, a great event that will be attended by over 150,000 people in Rome and that will actually be the first official encounter between Pope Francis and the world’s families.
