We have just received the sad news that Dominique Laffitte, brother of Bishop Jean Laffitte, Secretary at our Pontifical Council, died on November 2nd, in Oloron-Sainte-Marie (France) at the age of 75 years. Dominique, father of three children, was himself the eldest of twelve brothers and sisters, among whom is Bishop Laffitte is the youngest. He worked as a notary and was very present throughout his life in the life of the local church.He left us after receiving the sacraments, accompanied by the prayer and affection of his loved ones.
 
The funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, November 8th, at 3:00 p.m. in the cathedral of Oloron-Sainte-Marie and the burial will take place at the Santa Maria cemetery.
To his children Marie-Laure, Anne, Pauline and their families, to his brothers and sisters and in particular to our Secretary, as well as to his relatives and friends, the Pontifical Council for the Family expresses its deepest condolences with the assurance of our prayers for the repose the soul of the deceased.
