The Family: A Commitment for All
Parents, parishes, the elderly and the media support the new evangelization in Ghana’s society

Everyone can do something, in one way or another, to promote and support the new evangelisation. This is, in short, what Angelina Mornah Domakyaareh, of the Ghana Center for Democratic Development, said in her lecture on "The New Evangelisation and The Family in the Ghanaian Context." "Individual families—she explained—should find dedicated times to pray together and study the Word of God. Groups of families should meet at dedicated scheduled times to share the Word of God." With this aim, group meetings in some parishes “should be replicated in all Parishes and intensified. Families can contribute to and / or sponsor electronic, digital and print media evangelisation." Parents are called to "allow their children and wards to fully take part in Church activities suitable to the age," while encouraging them to be "active members in Church societies when they become of age." As for the elderly, in the Ghanaian society they are "in a strategic position to help young people gain confidence and familiarity with the Sacred Scripture so that it can become a compass showing us the path to follow."
