A day of study on the "theological foundations" of the family, "aimed at getting a vision of the family's vocation and mission in modern society that is in line with the contemporary period," is scheduled for August 31st, in Bern. The Bishops of the Swiss Episcopal Conference announced the event in the final document of their last meeting, which was held in Geneva from 2 to 4 March. Another topic addressed at that meeting was the World Youth Day in Krakow, in view of which a National Youth Day will be celebrated from 1 to 3 to May, in Freiburg.
