The Family Comes First   versione testuale
During their annual spring General Assembly, the American Bishops drew up a draft work with the priorities from 2017 to 2020: at the top of the list, the family and marriage stand out

Family and marriage are the main priorities of the Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). This is what emerged from a document approved by the spring General Assembly, organized by the American Bishops from 10 to 12 June, in St. Louis.

With 165 of the 182 votes in favor of the working draft, the members of the Assembly have approved a strategic plan that will go from 2017 to 2020; the document, elaborated collegially and shared by the Bishops gathered in St. Louis, will be evaluated by the corresponding committees in the coming weeks. The committees will then present the definitive strategic plan to the General Assembly, next November, for its final approval.
The priorities highlighted by the US Bishops, to which in consequence great extreme care and special pastoral efforts will be dedicated, are in order: the family and marriage, evangelization, religious freedom, human life and its dignity, vocations and ongoing formation.
