A concrete commitment to double the efforts of evangelization through increasingly targeted family ministry, in all their dioceses, in addition to the desire to instill the Christian vision of life and the world not only in believers but also in all people of good will. This is the essence of the Final message drafted by members of the Council of Bishops' Conferences of Europe (CCEE) and of the Symposium of the Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM), at the end of the seminar "The Joy of the Family," held in Maputo, Mozambique, from 28 to 31 May.
The bishops of the two continents have indeed expressed their desire to "let this light of Christ shine, by increasing our pastoral care of the family, by preparing our youth for Holy Matrimony, by accompanying families with or without children, by taking care of the elderly and the divorced in whatever circumstances they live."
The meeting ended on the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, with a Mass presided over by Msgr. Lucio Andrice Muandula, Bishop of Xai-Xai and President of the Episcopal Conference of Mozambique.
