The Pope’s House   versione testuale
Where does the Pope live?
The Pope lives in Vatican City, which, although it is located in Rome, is actually an independent State. It is a country like Italy, but much smaller! The Pope lives there with many people who help him to carry out his duties. In Vatican City, there are many beautiful things to see! From St. Peter's Basilica to the Vatican Museums, where many famous works of art from around the world are conserved.
St. Peter's Square St. Peter's Square is where the Pope meets the faithful. It is surrounded by a colonnade, and at its center, there is an obelisk. St. Peter's Basilica—the world's biggest church—is at the end of the square. When there is a major event, people from around the world fill the streets to listen to what the Pope has to say, or when there is the Conclave, they wait there for the newly elected Pope and celebrate together!
