The theme of the National Liturgical Week, to be held in Bari from 27 to 30 August, is "Eucharist, Marriage, Family." This event centered on formation and spirituality, organized by the Center of Liturgical action (Cal), brings together lay pastoral workers, diocesan representatives and religious institutes from all over Italy. The goal, says the president of Cal, Msgr. Alceste Catella, is "to deepen the liturgical sacramental aspect of the Eucharist, the source and summit of Christian marriage, and of Sunday, the memorial day of the marriage of Christ the Bridegroom and the Church, his Bride." The focus is on the "value of the Sunday Eucharistic celebration, where the family can always draw the strength of the Spirit to be itself in all its truth and beauty."
Among the interventions on the program of the conference is a lecture by Msgr. Bruno Forte, Archbishop of Chieti-Vasto and Special Secretary of the Synod on the family, on "The Eucharistic Dimension of the Life of the Couple and the Family." Testimonies will also be shared by the spouses Franco and Giuseppina Miano, who participated, as experts, in last October's extraordinary Synod on the family.
