A Book for the Family
Launch of the National Bible Week promoted by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
The 2015 edition of the National Bible Week promoted by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops under the title "The Bible: A Book for the Family" will end on November 21st. "Families, parishes, schools, and other Catholic groups—say the promoters—are invited to participate, thanks to the resources, available in English and Spanish, which can be found on the website of the Episcopal Conference." This event, in the aftermath of the Synod on the Family and Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families, commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation "Dei Verbum." Resources designed especially for families are intended for daily use of the Bible at home, for Lectio Divina and sharing the Word in the reality of life, while resources for formation in the faith in the parishes propose ways to read the Bible during catechesis and prayer, as well as initiatives such as vigils and retreats.
