Amoris Laetitia: Work in Progress
A Forum on the Family at the Pontifical Gregorian University on 7 and 8 October
A forum entitled "Amoris Laetitia: Work in Progress", intended especially for pastoral workers but also for families, will "reflect on concrete applications" of the Pope's Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation on the family. This meeting will be hosted by the Pontifical Gregorian University on 7 and 8 October. "Starting with the 'novelty' of Francis' pastoral proposal, which stimulates theologians, pastors and the laity, we will discuss—explain the promoters—the new paths on which an outgoing Church must travel if she wants to read the signs of the times as an invitation to go down new roads to meet today's families and bring them the good news of God's love and mercy." The work will begin on Friday at 4:00 pm with the salutation of the new Rector of the Gregorian University, Father Nuno da Silva Goncalves, and then continue with lectures by Paul Benanti and Joseph Bonfrate. On 8 October, two round tables are scheduled to begin at 9:00 am: one is on "The Seasons of the Family" and the other on "The Tested Family." At 3:00 pm, discussion on family ministry's "Work in Progress" will begin with the presentation of experiences and projects touching issues such as death in the family, the presence of a disabled child, the new matrimonial nullity process, adolescents' efforts to grow up, and sex education.
