The defense of life, women and motherhood: this is the objective of the event promoted in Madrid, on March 23rd, by the platform “Si a la vida” (Yes to Life), which unites 504 associations. “The Spanish society should be a pioneer in the defense of life, especially now that a bill is being discussed that can be very important in Europe for reexamining the habit that stems from the legalization of abortion,” says Inés Cuartero, the platform’s spokeswoman. The objective of the event is to claim the right to life. The defense of life must be carried forward, says Cuartero, “in all circumstances and for everyone, from the pregnant mother to the unborn child. The fate of a society that does not protect the lives of its citizens and does not care of the pregnant woman is demographic suicide.”
