Many significant events have taken place throughout the world in reference to the International Day of Families sponsored by the UN


May 15 2014 will be the 20th anniversary of the World day of Families instituted by the UN in 1994. Numerous are the initiatives and events that have been organized throughout the world in connection to the celebration.
 
The Family Watch organized a meeting of European experts from June 6 – 8, 2012 in Brussels to examine the principles themes.
The First IFFD Briefing was held in New York on Feb. 12 2013 where the work in Brussels was presented.
