The Sacrament of Marriage
A two day course was held in Bologna, with Msgr. Laffitte among those presenting, which sought to find new answers regarding the increase in unions characterized as “forever”.
A course entitled “The Sacrament of Matrimony” was held on the 4th and 5th of June as an opportunity for deepened reflection upon marriage and the bonds uniting the 2 spouses. The Faculty of Theology of Bologna offered the course to those signed up for the continuing education program for priests of Eilia-Romagna. It sought to find solutions together to one of the most widespread new phenomena facing society today: the numerous growth in de facto unions and the consequent disaffection for the stability of marriage that derives from it. Among those contributing of the lay and religious present was the Secretary of the Pontifical Council for the Family, Msgr. Jean Laffitte, who in his presentation on the second day of the course entitled “Matrimony and the Eucharist: the question of the divorced and remarried” spoke on one of today’s most relevant and sensitive subjects regarding the family.
