Children:Sources of Joy and Faith
The VII General Congregation of the Synod met on Thursday morning. On the agenda: "The Pastoral Challenges concerning Openness to Life"
"The family should be spoken of using a 'grammar of simplicity' that reaches the hearts of the faithful and non-believers." This was one of the proposals made on Thursday morning at the VII General Congregation of the Extraordinary Synod on the Family, which after finishing its work on "The Difficult Pastoral Situations" began to discuss "The Pastoral Challenges concerning Openness to Life."Speaking especially of children, "the negative impact of contraception on society and resulting decline in the birth rate was underlined."It was said that in relation to this issue "Catholics should not remain silent, but should instead bring a message of hope: children are important, they bring life and joy to their parents, and they reinforce faith and religious practices."
