"The Vocation and the Mission of the Family in the Church and in the Contemporary World" is the theme of the International Conference of family and life movements, groups and associations that will be held from 22 to 24 January at the Church Palace in Rome (Via Aurelia, 481).
The meeting, a step on the path towards the XIV General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, will open on Thursday the 22nd at 9:00 am with a Mass presided by Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Council for the Family. The opening intervention will be entrusted to Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops. In the afternoon, Francesco Belletti, President of the Forum of Family Associations, will present the first part of the Lineamenta: "Listening: The Context and Challenges of the Family."
On Friday, Mass will be celebrated by the Secretary of the Pontifical Council for the Family, Bishop Jean Laffitte, and then the spouses Olivier and Xristilla Roussy of Amour et Verité (France) will present the second part of the Lineamenta: "Looking at Christ: the Gospel of the Family." In the afternoon, the presentation of the third part of the Lineamenta / 1, "Confronting the Situation: Pastoral Perspectives (Proclaiming the Gospel of the Family Today in Various Contexts; Guiding Engaged Couples in Their Preparation for Marriage; Accompanying the Married Couple in the Initial Years of Marriage; Pastoral Care for Couples Civilly Married or Living Together; Caring for Wounded Families ...), "will be entrusted to Víctor and Stella Dominguez of Proyecto Esperanza (Paraguay). Msgr. Mansueto Bianchi, general ecclesiastical assistant of the Azione Cattolica Italiana, will preside the Mass on Saturday the 24th. Then, Caroline Terrenoir of WOOMB International (World Organization Ovulation Method Billings) will present the third part of the Lineamenta / 2: "Confronting the Situation: Pastoral Perspectives (Transmission of life and Upbringing)." In the afternoon, after the presentation, there will be work in groups, followed by the final assembly.
