"The country's future depends on the alliance between the generations." This is the theme of the meeting, which will be held in the multipurpose hall of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, on Friday, 15 May, for the International Day of Families. "We will discuss the issue of the necessary solidarity between the generations in our country—explains Francesco Belletti, President of the Forum of Family Associations—in a social context, ours, where generations compete for the allocation of public resources, while within the family the system of generational intersection strongly comes into play. On the one hand, the family—says Belletti—supports general welfare, by playing a public role. And, yet, a new alliance between the family and society is needed to revive the solidarity between the generations." Concurrently, there will be a presentation of the project "Donare memoria," which is being carried out throughout the country to see—Belletti explains—"how the story between generations creates culture, while making all members of the family, including the elderly and children, into protagonists."
The Minister for Health, Beatrice Lorenzin, and the Minister for Labor and Social Policy, Giuliano Poletti, the Undersecretary in charge of the family, Franca Biondelli and the head of the Department of family policy, Ermenegilda Siniscalchi, will speak at this conference. The theme "Equity between generations: we win together or we all lose" will be spoken on by Luigino Bruni, professor of Economics at Lumsa. Luciana Saccone, Department of family policy; Marco Livia, director of Iref; Roberto Messina, President of Federanziani; Carla Alati Tilli, member of the Commission National Catholic Action / Adultissimi; and Federico Gelli, president of the Center of volunteer services in Tuscany, will participate in the round table on the project "Donare memoria."
