Lord, look at our families!   versione testuale
Pope Francis at the encounter with the world of labor Cagliari, on Sunday September 22th

At the end of the encounter with the world of labor in Cagliari, putting aside his prepared text, which he did however deliver as read, the Pope touched the hearts of all with these words:

«Let's fight together so that at the center, at least in our own life, there is man and woman, the family, all of us, so that hope may go on... Don’t let your hope be stolen!
Now I want to finish by praying with you all, in silence, in silence, praying with you all. I will say what comes from the heart and you, in silence, pray with me:
“Lord God, look at us! See this city, this island. Look at our families. Lord, you didn’t lack work, you were a carpenter... You were happy.
Lord, we don’t have work. Idols want to steal our dignity. Unjust systems want to steal our hope.
Lord, don’t leave us by ourselves. Help us to help one another, to forget our selfishness and to hear the “we” in our hearts, we, the people, who want to go forward.
Lord Jesus, you who did not lack work, give us work and teach us to fight for our jobs, and bless us all.
In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”.»
