The prayer strengthens the family   versione testuale
Pope Francis, at the general Audience of the First of May, in St. Peter Square

In the catechesis of the general audience of the 1st of May, that was the feast day of Saint Joseph the Worker and the World Labour Day, Pope Francis remembered that «Jesus is born and lives in a family, in the Holy Family, learning the craft of carpenter from Saint Joseph in his workshop in Nazareth, sharing with him the commitment, effort, satisfaction and also the difficulties of every day».

«Work is fundamental to the dignity of a person. And here I think of the difficulties which, in various countries, today afflicts the world of work and businesses; I think of how many, and not just young people, are unemployed, many times due to a purely economic conception of society, which seeks selfish profit, beyond the parameters of social justice», Pope Bergoglio said. And then: «Saint Joseph went through difficult times, he too, but he always trusted, and he knew how to overcome adversity».
An important theme in the catechesis, expecially at the beginning of May, that is the dedicated Month to Virgin Mary, was the recalling the importance and beauty of the prayer of the Holy Rosary and of praying together in the family, as «a precious moment that further strengthens family life, friendship». So, the Pope invite us all: «Let us learn to pray more in the family and as a family!».
