Manif Pour Tous is promoting a demonstration, to be held on February 2nd, simultaneously in different European cities, against the Lunacek-Report on sexual education for children, gender identity and abortion, that is two days before its presentation to the European Parliament.
The Coordinator of Manif Pour Tous Italia, Jacopo Coghe, commented on the initiative: «The slogan of the event is ‘Together for Europe’. The heart of the problems of European integration is the anthropological question: we must be united to defend marriage between a man and a woman as well as the family in the European institutions. There is an anthropological crisis that presents itself as a legal and legislative emergency, with systematic attacks by organized lobbies against the family, which is the nucleus of society. The marriage between a man and a woman open to life is a civil and anthropological value, on which we agree, regardless of the different cultural and religious stances».
The event promoted in Italy, on Saturday, January 11th, 2011, against the so-called Law on Homophobia, in fact brought together thousands of people, including Jews and Muslims, all in defense of marriage and the family. «It was a success, even on the ecumenical level. The media, however, boycotted it. There is pressure to promote gender ideology to the point of trying to make illegal what the law actually should protect: marriage exclusively between a man and a woman. On this issue, we must be united and courageous», Coghe says.
